Funnily enough, financial planning isn’t about money
It’s about personal relationships and having someone who takes the time to understand your goals, and where you want to be in the long term. It’s about your needs and what works for you.
It’s about personal relationships and having someone who takes the time to understand your goals, and where you want to be in the long term. It’s about your needs and what works for you.
With the right people who take the time to get to know you, it’s very easy to have what you need in place, quickly. We focus on the individual so our depth of understanding is always far deeper. And our advice, therefore, more personal. We blend our professional and technical knowledge with our experience to anticipate what lies ahead, plan for it and make sure your financial future is in parallel with you from today.
The relationships we build are for the long term. We can be at your side whenever change presents itself, ready with clear bespoke knowledge and a holistic view. No one is better placed to respond to your every financial issue.
We take real pride in our client relationships; in fact we are known for the knowledge and deep understanding we have of your world.
It’s a breath of fresh air having someone at your side who specialises in partnering with people who work in creative, media, art, film, tv and tech industries. We share a common way of thinking with our clients – it’s a complimentary combination.
Understanding your needs, issues, opinions and aspirations with a particular focus on the financial / money issues.
Having understood where you are and what you want, we develop a plan and specific proposals designed to fit with your financial needs and goals.
We work hard to ensure you understand and agree with the proposal. Once you have signed off, we make your plan happen, implementing in the most efficient and painless way possible.
We build long term relationships with our clients and regularly monitor and review your financial plan to ensure it continues to reflect your changing circumstances.
We are a team of dedicated financial advisers based in London, working closely with creatively minded people. We are hugely experienced, adding value to our client relationships by doing and knowing the things you simply don’t have the time or inclination for.
I formed Parallel (and in its previous form, Music Media) more than 25 years ago and feel incredibly lucky…
every day to work with such great people, both clients and colleagues, who make this a fantastic place to be.
In addition to various high-level technical qualifications from The Chartered Institute of Insurance, I hold Certified Financial Planner status and qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments to supplement my more than 30 years’ experience in financial planning.
Outside the office, my main interest is post war and contemporary art along with plenty of time for family, friends and travel and can often be found polishing my old classic car.
I started my career in insurance and pension advice over 20 years ago but decided to specialise…
in mortgage broking and commercial property finance. I really enjoy helping people through ‘the mortgage maze’
I hold all the numerous mortgage qualifications to the highest level including Equity Release. I am also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Society for Mortgage Professionals which upholds the highest standards.
When I am not helping clients, I very much enjoy cooking and reading. I also do Pilates and like to walk. With two children now at secondary school I am busy helping them with their studies and pursuits along with running my son’s football team.
I joined Parallel in 2015 with a primary focus on investment analysis (I enjoy it, so our clients don’t have to!).
I currently hold a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from The University of Exeter and the Diploma in Financial Planning & Advice from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
In my spare time I enjoy going to the theatre, surfing and the occasional triathlon.
I joined the Financial Services industry in 1985 as a stop-gap until I found something more ‘trendy’ to do…
but quickly grew to like my job and this developed into a love and passion that I would now never swap for anything.
I get immense pleasure from assisting clients and giving insurance companies and investment managers a hard time to make sure they deliver. I hold the Financial Planning Certificate from the Chartered Insurance Institute and a number of other professional exams too.
Outside of work I enjoy eating (a lot), watching all sports and I have learned to enjoy watching kids TV (with my son!)
I joined in May 2017, having worked for a large pension administration firm, which gave me excellent…
knowledge in the pension world. I currently work within the Private Client team, assisting my colleagues and clients with their queries.
If I manage to free myself from my own true love of studying for exams, outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, playing / watching football and eating far more than I should.
I joined the team in February 2019, having previously worked in the blockchain space.
I moved into financial services to return to my one true love, spreadsheets. I am currently studying towards the Level 2 Certificate in the Fundamentals of Financial Services from the Chartered Institute for Securities.
In my spare time I play as much sport as I can including captaining a small village cricket club in Kent and a spot of tennis coaching for the children of Wandsworth.
I joined Parallel in July 2013 having previously worked at a large retail bank. I have a degree in…
Business Management from my time at university.
I enjoy working in a small team as it means I get to understand the many things that go into looking after all the different types of clients we have. Outside of work, coffee, shopping and chocolate form an important part of my social life and even the occasional 10k run!
